Cranial osteopathy is a subtle type of osteopathy that uses gentle and non-manipulative techniques that centre on the cranium (head) and sacrum (tail bone) to release stress and tension throughout the body. It is often used to treat adults sensitive to manipulation, and is particularly beneficial to babies and young children. Body structures rely on the constant involuntary motion produced by biorhythms to stay healthy. How does cranial osteopathy work?<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The constant ebb and flow which is present in the tissues of the body, which is linked to our breathing rhythm, heartbeat and the movement of other body fluids, is constantly working to keep us in balance. The early osteopaths described this bio-rhythmic movement as \u201cthe physician within\u201d.<\/p>

If the rhythmic movements of the body are restricted, perhaps because of physical or emotional stress, the rhythm is disrupted and can cause tension to be held in different parts of the body.<\/p>

Our skilled practitioners are able to feel these gentle rhythmic movements by placing their hands gently on your body, particularly your head and tail bone.
