Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues all functioning smoothly together. According to the principles of Osteopathy, for your body to work well, its structure must also work well. An Osteopaths skilled hands can detect subtle tissue changes through palpation. An osteopath will also use physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension and enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues all helping to enhance your body\u2019s own healing mechanisms. The aim of osteopathic treatment is to restore the body to a state of balance without the use of drugs or surgery however as experts in their field, Osteopath\u2019s can also recognise when more serious medical intervention or surgery may be required and can refer a patient back to their GP for an MRI scan or appointment with a consultant if deemed appropriate.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
