Osteopathy During
Pregnancy

How can osteopathy help me during pregnancy?

Pregnancy can be one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll go through in your life, but it’s no secret that it can be challenging too.

Some of the most common physical complaints during pregnancy include:

  • Lower and upper back pain
  • SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction)
  • Indigestion and nausea
  • Hip and sciatic pain
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue

Having osteopathy when pregnant can provide effective relief from this pain and discomfort by helping your body to align and adapt to its changing shape and structure.

At what stage in my pregnancy should I have osteopathy?

You can have osteopathy at any point during your pregnancy. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above, get in touch to arrange an initial consultation.

Our Birth Prep programme should ideally start at 34 weeks, although this could begin sooner if you experience any pain or discomfort earlier on.

Even if you do not experience any pain or discomfort during your pregnancy, our Birth Prep programme can help prepare your body for labour with the aim of achieving your ideal birthing outcome.

Given the significant structural, hormonal and emotional changes you’ll experience as you progress through pregnancy, it’s not surprising that you’ll likely experience an array of symptoms and side effects. Our Birth Prep program has been used for over 26 years to help mothers achieve their ideal birthing experience.
